🛶 Diane—BDP Client SPOTLIGHT: How on earth can I write when the world is on fire?
Diane's 4 wk writing group is now open. For women who love to write and long to change the world.
Please meet Diane Douiyssi from Inner Wisdom Wayfinding, below!
In these client spotlights, I will be sharing with you some of what the leaders who grace the door of the Big Dream Program for a time are unrolling as their new work in this world. People you might wish to know, follow and work with.
From me, Alex:
Diane is a writer and activist, and a person I deeply admire. She currently hails from Sioux Falls, South Dakota, USA.
She is able to carry activism, beauty, and creativity all at the same time. And is one of the folks I personally regard as a ‘solution person’ for these times.
She is also a wordsmith extraordinaire who graciously helped me with the Intro for my book.
I heartily invite you to connect with Diane, and her amazing online writing experience for women (and those identifying as women) starting April 8th.
From Diane, in her own words:
Hi friends, it’s nice to meet you here. I’m Diane. I’ve spent a good bit of my life living around the world, and I’m currently living in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, USA.
I’d like to invite you to my four-week online writing gathering of like-minded women. It begins soon—April 8th.
If you’re interested in writing, especially as a way to respond to living in the world today, and if what I speak to below resonates with you, please join me or get in touch. We need ALL of us out here, together.
Here’s what it’s about.
Writing to Meet This Day
How on earth can I write when the world is on fire? The care and tending of our stories, histories, experiences, and points of view is important. And, I’d argue it’s even more requisite, more needed today in the face of much of what’s happening in the world. I think of rising authoritarianism—when those in power seek to deny our right and those of others to exist. When they try to silence us. When they attempt to erase us by outlawing words, twisting truths, or pulling us off the streets.
We claim our existence through the claiming of our stories.
And while doing this is indeed a fierce act, it also requires tenderness and space to unfurl. It asks for a safe place to say what wants to be said—one that both cultivates beauty and honors the difficult paradox of being alive today. One that is a hearth to gather women to bear witness to our stories.
La Roseraie is such a sanctuary.
This online writing experience begins April 8th.

From Alex - a last word:
Please share Diane’s project out to those in your world who might be interested in her work. The hardest thing sometimes is to reach the right folks. And you might know such a person right now. 🙏

Thanks, @Alex Baisley for this beautiful share. I’m excited to bring a little blend of things I love into this online writing experience -and that, if I haven’t mentioned it before is one of the fab things I learned from you and the Big Dream Program.
